Another Mercury Retrograde is upon us.
For the next 3 weeks, until May 22nd, communication in all forms will be less reliable, murky and at times an all-around hassle.
Plan for misunderstandings, petty arguments, missing information, unexpected delays and confusion at every turn.
The planet Mercury is the ruler of communication, self-expression, commerce, travel and all forms of technology.
I've written and podcasted about Mercury Retrograde many times over the years, so I will just skip the explanation of this cosmic phenomena and give it to you straight...
My Intuitive Coaching tips for navigating Mercury Retrograde with ease:
Expect only the unexpected. Interestingly, this retrograde stretches over the month of May and in numerology the 5th month of the year is a roller coaster of unpredictable dips and turns. So just plan for the unexpected now. If you set the intention to go with the flow, you will find each surprise during this time period to be an exciting and fun adventure.
Do your best not to take anything personally. Utilize your forgiveness muscles. Take the breath. Release it. Then move on. You'll also find that saying "I'm sorry" is easier than trying to defend your perspective.
Make the next 3 weeks a game. Give yourself a reward for notletting life get to you. I mean, really... make a list in your day planner of all the nice things you're going to for yourself during this Mercury Retrograde.
Avoid starting something new. Instead revisit all of your unfinished projects or brainstorm ideas for something you would like to do in the future. Daydream. Gather information. Make an outline. But don't try to launch or execute your next bold move.
Double check. Triple check. Then check it again. Details tend to be missed during Mercury Retrograde. Just do your best and everything will come together just fine.
Give yourself lots and lots and lots of time to get everywhere and do everything. If you're a procrastinator by nature, you can alleviate a lot of unnecessary stress by planning ahead and working in short, incremental blocks of time. You will be amazed by what you can accomplish in fifteen minutes of uninterrupted time. If you're traveling, leave early and be prepared for potential delays.
Add laughter to your self-care routine. Break out the cat videos, fill your DVR with sitcoms and reconnect with your pal with the best jokes. Apply humor to stressful and tense situations like sunblock on a sunny day.
Allow yourself to be indecisive. Wait until the end of May to make big commitments or sign contracts. Nothing is nearly as urgent as it may seem. If you have to make a decision, go within, say a prayer and trust your intuition. The same goes for big purchases.
Live like it's 1995. Remember when pagers were the latest technology? Don't rely on your apps, video chatting, text messaging and online platforms as heavily as you normally do. Electronics and all forms of technology are less reliable during Mercury Retrograde. Response times may be slower. Systems are more likely to breakdown. Your gear may stop working. Practice patience with a compassionate heart and a glass of wine.
Most importantly, plan for the next three weeks to be a positive experience. Great things will happen, but they will occur in the most unexpected and seemingly "backwards" way.
