Today, I watched half of Danielle LaPorte's Desire Map live seminar. You can see the replay here.
(I only watched half of the seminar because I got so inspired that I had to do a dancing meditation to work through all the ideas running through my mind. She's that good.)
During the seminar, she asked a series of questions that I found dream-provoking, motivating and playful. The core message Danielle is putting into the world is to focus on how you want to feel instead of the exterior goal.
As many of you know, I am all about starting with the interior (our mind-feeling-dreaming-Spirit) experience to transform our exterior experience. Sometimes, in the busyness of making things happen, we are disconnected from what is really important. We are disconnected from our soul.
This little exercise help me re-align with my soul. I felt these questions were so helpful in creating a shift in my focus, intention and consciousness that I wanted to share them with all of you.
What I have learned in my life and what I want you to know: When we know what our soul really needs to be expressed at any given time- how we want to feel- then we pursue life, things, relationships, work, and the day-to-day in a way that produces the results that are most in harmony with our well-being. In other words, we live from our soul.
Answering these questions was a fun, little consciousness game that definitely got me excited about life again. And I love to be excited about life! For this week's blog post, I thought I would share the questions with you and my answers. I hope you find it as fun and inspiring as I did. If moved to do so, please share your answers with me here. Oh and its even more fun when done with some good music in the background. (I put on the Miles Davis and Thievery Corporation stations on Pandora. )
The How Do You Want to Feel Question Game (abbreviated from Danielle LaPorte's Live Lecture)
A few tips: Write your answers in a journal. Keep your answers short. Focus on the actual feeling. Take your time. I spent years getting to the "core feelings" of my soul. It's totally okay to be repetitive. That's kind of the secret truth within the exercise.

Extra Credit:
I've been developing my “core feelings” list for some time. I wonder what it would be like to use my answers to the questions to create my list. If inspired, after you're done answering the questions, create your “core feeling” list. (Core feeling is in quotes because I think I may have picked it up from Mrs. LaPorte.) Aim for 10.
I have 14 because words that mean the same thing on paper, felt different in my body-mind-Spirit. For example: Free. Full of life. Lively. Have very similar meanings, but each represents something different in my body-mind-Spirit.
Play with your list. Look up the meaning of words as they intuitively come to you. I think you will be really surprised by the feelings that ultimately make the list.
With joy,
Amy
