If you follow my radio program, you know dancing meditation is my thing. It is the primary component of my spiritual practice. I’ve been doing it for years. As a kid growing up in an abusive household, it was the only thing that brought me any peace. Dancing meditation was my daily, personal church service. It saved me.
When done daily, spiritual practice will allow you to experience the bliss and tranquility of Spirit in every aspect of your life. It will save you.
What is spiritual practice and why is it important?
Spiritual practice is a daily exercise of connecting to the Divine. Having an active spiritual practice helps you on your unique path to enlightenment. It is your way of uniting with the bliss and tranquility of Spirit. Spiritual practice reminds you that circumstances are not all there is. There is an energetic force, (God, Spirit, Divine, Source) that is loving, passionate, healing and abundant and is working for your greater good in and through you. Making it a daily exercise, in the same way that you brush your teeth every morning, keeps your energetic channel open and clear to magnetic power of Spirit.
Spiritual practice is yours and yours alone. While there are many masters that will encourage you to do a particular exercise, ultimately it is your Divine responsibility to find what works best for you. Try a little bit of everything- yoga, meditation (in all its forms), prayer, affirmations, ritual, journaling, reading spiritual texts, chanting, walking in nature and creative pursuits (knitting, painting, singing, playing an instrument, etc), then develop a daily spiritual exercise routine that is most in alignment with your journey.
Having a spiritual practice that you love is an exercise of faith. It is through your faith that you will be able to transform the interior of your mind-body-spirit, so that you can experience the exterior riches and blessings of your desires.
My Spirit Guides want me to remind you that spiritual practice is most effective when done daily, but even a little bit of spiritual practice sprinkled throughout your week, month or year can be life-affirming and powerful.
There are no rules to spiritual practice. It is your intention that dictates your course.
Seek it. And you will find. Knock. And the doors will open.
With joy,
Amy
